Women Livelihood

Women Livelihood

Women's livelihood empowerment involves providing training, resources, and, crucial, access to financial independence, allowing women to support families and engage in economic activities, particularly in agriculture and small-scale entrepreneurship.
Key initiatives focus on skill development, linking women to markets/government schemes, and reducing unpaid care work, driving community development and sustainable income.

Investing in women’s economic empowerment and resilient livelihoods will help women withstand, cope and recover from disasters. We at Yoga Cure Association provide support for women to maintain or enhance their access and control of resources, capacity, knowledge and assets including training and credit. We engage grass-roots womens' to build partnerships for women’s resilient livelihoods and businesses.

In places affected by conflict, violence, poverty and marginalization, the challenges traditionally faced by women are almost systematically heightened. This creates an empowerment gap that is detrimental both to women and their communities that cannot tap their immense potential for positive change. In response, we have designed a specific program to provide vulnerable and underprivileged women vocational training courses. In and of itself, this training program has proven instrumental for helping them transform perspectives on their economic and personal prospects, improving their self-confidence and capacity to undertake life-changing projects. Such projects will typically include looking for a job, initiating a career change or developing a business of their own.

Rural Development

Farming

Rural women’s farming and farm-based activities are major sources of household income. Across rural landscapes, women sow seeds, preserve grain, manage livestock, and ensure that households eat—even in years when crops fail. Their contribution to food security and sustainability is not marginal.

Diary Farming

Dairy farming is a vital source of livelihood for rural women where it provides financial stability and enhances their decision-making power. The advancement of diary farming is greatly helped by the contributions of women. Women do the majority of animal-related tasks but their contributions are rarely recognized.

Weaving

Women's weaving provides essential, sustainable livelihoods that foster economic, cultural preservation and resilience in rural communities. By transforming traditional skills into income through handlooms and handicrafts, women achieve financial autonomy to support their families.
